Shakira Rockin' Concert Doll By Mattel (Camoflage)

Shakira Doll from the Rockin' Concert Series
Customer Review: shakira is a belly dancer
my sister is six she loves shakira you should really put a picture thank you suany

The idea of dancing horses may seem both novel and strange to some people. Many animals "dance" especially as part of the courtship ritual. Just like with us there can be a very strong link between dance and sexuality. At shows such events for our canine friends are becoming common place. Dogs while entertaining and enthusiastic performers lack both the grace and sophistication of the dancing horse.

The exponents par excellence of this equestrian art are the horses of Andalusia. Along with the Arab and Thoroughbred they are the aristocrats of the horse world. Roman writers noted the excellent quality of the Spanish native stock. The Moors then cross bred them with their own Arab and Berber breeds which were later to influence most American and European breeds of horse.

The Lippizaners of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna are direct descendants of the Andalusian horse.

This horse is prized for its elegance, proud head carriage, short arched neck, silky flowing mane, compact body and harmonious proportions. It is customary in Spain to clip the mare's manes. Only the stallions are allowed to keep their long flowing manes. Nearly half of all Andalusian horses are either grey or white. The remainder are bay or black. Chestnuts or piebalds are excluded from the stud book.

These horses are gifted with great intelligence combined with an affectionate and gentle nature. It is considered to be the Dressage and Carriage horse par excellence.

The Andalusian marshes in particular provide the animals with nutritious pastures. This fact and the excellent climate contribute to the successful breeding of this horse.

The dancing horse combines sport with aesthetics. Dance training begins when the horse is still young though physically strong and mature. It is essential that the horse have a certain configuration and the right temperament. The movements they are taught are an extension of the natural playful frolicking of the young horse, and the "showing off" of the stallions as they try to impress a possible mate.

During training the horse must be relaxed at all times. The movements to be learned are broken down into a series of steps. The trainer does not compel the horse to do anything it does not want to do. It's efforts are always rewarded. One characteristic natural movement of the Andalusian horse is to throw it's forelegs in an outward arc before putting its hooves to the ground. This movement is very "balletic". In Spain this action is greatly appreciated whereas in England it is frowned upon.

One of the principle exponents of this art form in Spain is the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez de la Frontera. the school occupies an impressive villa. It is here that the pure breed Andalusian thoroughbreds learn their high precision ballets.

The school regularly holds shows for the general public. "How the Andalusian Horses Dance" combines choreography, classical flamenco and the Andalusian equestrian tradition into a breathtaking show. The equestrian ballet is accompanied by traditional Spanish music with the riders wearing eighteenth century costumes.

There is a demonstration of Doma Vaquera the "cowboy" type of dressage of a practical nature used in the countryside to herd cattle. The show includes a performance of classical dressage with pieces with names such as "The Foals", "Two Step" and "Three Step".

Another section includes carriage driving, and hand control where the horse obeys instructions from its rider on the ground. The highlight of the show is the Carousel where a group of horses and their riders, carry out synchronized advanced equitation exercises in the ring.

It really is a beautiful sight to see the young women on foot dancing Flamenco with their horses as their partners. The horse is directed and controlled by his rider who remains on foot. There is a wonderful interaction between horse and humans.

Don't miss an opportunity to see the dancing horses of Andalusia if you have the chance.

Oral Fixation Tour (DVD/CD)

Customer Review: Fantastic
This DVD along with Live and Off the Record are simply fantastic. Shakira is the whole package from the voice of an Angel to a body...well, that's out of this world!! How could you not love this goddess!!!!!
Customer Review: Bought it for the price. Ended up liking it.
It was available for less than fifteen so I picked it up. I liked Shakira's first major Spanish album before her international success. I hadn't really listened to her newer stuff. When I put it in I was pleasantly surprised. The visuals are great and the sound is even better. To be honest I do skip a few songs whenever I watch it but I still consider it a good purchase for the price.

Stem Cell Symphony: A Novel

Stuart Matheson, 32, is trapped in a nursing home as well as his body, eerily immobile at the last stage of Huntington's Disease. Kelsey Raye is a science writer feeling guilty about the recent deaths of her parents. She volunteers for hospice and is assigned to Stuart. She's a PhD, he never finished school, but they share a love of rock music and disdain of religion. They instantly bond.

As Kelsey plays her iPod daily for Stuart, he improves - an impossibility - and when she misses a few days, he backslides. She deduces that Stuart's gains follow hearing U2 or their imitators. Kelsey, who writes about stem cells, thinks the frequency of the arpeggios is turning on stem cells in Stuart's brain. She shares her idea with researcher Peter Holloway, but evil Nurse Smithies overhears and outs them to a tabloid. Meanwhile, Peter scans Stuart's brain. He's getting better!

All hell breaks loose when the tabloid hits. The government shuts down Peter's lab and confiscates Kelsey's iPod, while anti-stem cell protestors harass them -- just as Peter discovers how music stimulates stem cells. Then something unexpected happens. Did science fail, or was it the anti-science forces?

The underlying love story and comical cast of characters propel this parallel tale of emerging spirituality and an evolving medical technology. Many of the characters and scenes are based on real people, and the science dead-on accurate - with the one tweak of the music turning on stem cells.

It could happen.
Customer Review: Entertaining, informative, and inspiring
It's very refreshing to read a novel that is so well grounded in science and real life. This book has all the fictional elements of a great novel, yet you learn some things about science along the way through the book. I particularly liked the section on Congressional testimony. And I can personally relate to some of the nursing home scenes. Great job!
Customer Review: A good read AND informative!
Ricki Lewis' novel is the story of a young science writer who, as a hospice volunteer, finds herself inexplicably helping a patient with an incurable disease. It is current both in terms of discussing the science of the stem cell technology we hear so much about these days, but also in its musical references, like U2 and Coldplay (two artists included in a recent planetarium show I visited in the Rose Space Center in NYC.) There is a love interest with a twist, and I found myself gripped by the unknowns presented in the thickening plots. The cast of characters was eccentric but believable. Their actions felt so real sometimes, I found myself wondering if portions of the story were based on real events. What I perhaps liked the best was that the uplifting ending suggested that the miracle of art (in this case music) can inexplicably have a profound scientific effect on our bodies in ways we have perhaps not yet discovered. If there are not medical researchers out there testing out Dr. Lewis' "novel" hypotheses- there should be! I found myself learning about science while enjoying the story. This was a good read- I highly suggest it!

The word fibromyalgia comes from the Latin term for fibrous tissue (fibro-) and the Greek ones for muscle (-myo-) and pain (-algia). It is also known as fibrositis. It is a syndrome characterized by chronic pain, stiffness, and tenderness of muscles, tendons, and joints without detectable inflammation.Fibromyalgia does not cause body damage or deformity. However, undue fatigue plagues the large majority of patients with fibromyalgia and

Fibromyalgia is considered an arthritis-related condition. However, it is not a form of arthritis (a disease of the joints) since it does not cause inflammation in the joints, muscles, or other tissues or damage them. But fibromyalgia can (like arthritis) cause significant pain and fatigue and it can similarly interfere with a person's ability to carry on daily activities.

Irritable bowel syndrome may occur with fibromyalgia.Other symptoms of fibromyalgia may include headaches, painful menstrual periods, numbness or tingling of the extremities, restless legs, temperature sensitivity, and cognitive and memory problems (sometimes referred to as "brain fog").

Fibromyalgia tends to affect women. Only 10 to 20% of people with fibromyalgia are men. The diagnosis of fibromylgia in both women and men is usually made during middle age, although the symptoms may be present earlier in life. People with certain rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus), or ankylosing spondylitis (spinal arthritis) are more likely to also have fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is not always easy to diagnose because many of the symptoms mimic those of other disorders, there are no visible signs of the disorder that a physician can see and there is no definitive laboratory test for fibromyalgia. The diagnosis of fibromyalgia is a clinical diagnosis. It is based on a history of chronic widespread pain that persists for more than 3 months in combination with tenderness in at least 11 of 18 specific tender point sites. Treatment is most effective when it incorporates combinations of education, stress reduction, exercise, and medication. A study has shown that aerobic exercise, such as swimming and walking, improves muscle fitness and reduces muscle pain and tenderness. Heat and massage may also give short-term relief. Patients with fibromyalgia may benefit from a combination of exercise, medication, physical therapy, and relaxation. Recommendations for prevention and treatment

1.Obtain delayed food IgG allergy testing, such as that available at New Hope Medical Center. This requires fasting for 12 hours prior to a blood draw.148 food antigens are tested against the patient's blood. Reactions are viewed under a microscope and recorded by digital camera. The patient is then given a consultation, along with an instruction manual, on how to correct this situation. If the patient's blood is too reactive, then a few intravenous infusions may become necessary prior to the blood draw in order to reduce this hyperactive state and obtain a more accurate test result.

2.Avoid processed foods (e.g., as white flour), refined foods (e.g., as white sugar), and stimulants such as coffee, tea, and tobacco (See "Smoking Addiction") as these can all depress your immune system.

3. Make an effort to increase your consumption of water.Attempt to drink eight glasses of purified or reverse osmosis water daily.

4. Ensure that your bowels move at least once daily by increasing your fiber consumption in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables. Oat bran and psyllium husk are also good sources of fiber. Coffee enemas can be very helpful here, as well as for stimulating liver detoxification via bile production.(See "Constipation")

5. Check your thyroid function by measuring your basal body temperature. This is done by placing a thermometer under your arm for 10 minutes before arising from bed on two consecutive days. For menstruating women, this is best done at the beginning of the menstrual cycle. The average basal body temperature should be greater than 97.8 degrees. If not, a trial of natural thyroid should be considered. (See "Hypothyroidism").

6. Consider a course of Cortef with a Micro dose Protocol.Cortef is a weak, water soluble steroid that helps to raise the body's threshold of pain by raising its natural cortisol level. It is given in a gradually decreasing amount over 2-3 weeks after which the patient may be placed on "booster doses" 4-5 days each week as needed for pain. This is a great way to interrupt the cycle of chronic pain and without the side-effects of Prednisone.

7.Consider an evaluation for free radical damage from environmental pollutants such as lead, aluminum, cadmium, and mercury. If elevated, heavy metal detoxification therapy is indicated. (See "Chelation Therapy").

8.Supplement with antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, E, Bioflavonoid, and Coenzyme Q10, B-vitamins, magnesium, free-form amino acids, thymus gland, and acidophilus. Consider also using Proteolytic enzymes, DMG, and vitamin B12 injections. Chlorophyll in tablet or liquid (such as barley or wheat grass) is also helpful.

9.Herbal preparations from burdock root, dandelion, echinacea, goldenseal and pau d'arco all promote healing. These can be made in teas and combined or alternated daily.

10.Homeopathic nosode preparations, such as those made from viruses themselves, are particularly helpful. However, these must be obtained by prescription from a homeopathic physician.Other homeopathic remedies known to be helpful in fatigue include Carbo Vegetabilis, Cocculus, Ferrum Phosphoricum, and Phosphoric Acidum.Combination remedies can also be helpful, especially if they contain the substance (e.g, virus) identified as the possible source of infection and/or fatigue. Isode therapy (e.g., preparations made from the patient themselves) can also be very beneficial here.

11.Take sublingual fermented lactobacillus three times daily for immune stimulation.

12.Gentle skin detoxification through a medical spa with steam sauna, infrared sauna, and/or contrast shower.

13.In severe cases, get intravenous solutions for better and more complete response. There should include either vitamin C or amino acids or combinations of both.

14.Intramuscular injections can be helpful for the delivery of energy medicines (e.g., B5, B12, AMP, NADH). These can be given 1-2 times weekly.

15.Subcutaneous energy injections can be administered daily and can include not only some of the products mentioned in #12 above, but homeopathic preparations as well.

ROCK IS DEAD. Long Live Paper & Scissors Men's Sweat Shirt in 2 colors Small thru 3XL

In a long history of Indian modern art we still could not found the way or the vision which could lead us beyond reproduction and representation. Today modern art is completely business oriented. Artists are just business people, petty in thinking; rarely there is any artist who really understands modernitys consciousness. Nowadays creativity is synonymous to good looking art, beautiful, decorative and crafty. A new group of capitalists have appeared on the horizon of Indian modern art to promote art and multiply the capital. Women from business families have come out from their closed
houses.

Bored by day to day life they have found a new opening in Indian modern art, for them its very interesting to talk and discuss art issues with some illiterate artist coming out from remote areas. Having lost all glamour of sex life, family life, and partying with their husbands; they have now invented a new concept for their enjoyment in art. Art means partying, kissing and drinking than making some fuss about art and its market. Artist feels fortunate to see himself in such a big party arranged by his malkin or malik gallery owner. A gallery owner makes scandals, to raise prices of a particular artist in online auction or auctions arranged by them physically in some five star hotels, they earn millions and millions.

Artists are not concerned with art and creativity either; they are more concerned with their names in auction list. Artists are no more Artists, they are craftsman; creating things on demand basis. Once they have started selling their craft (since their art is more decorative than artistic) they go on creating same thing. Ranjit Hoskote, says in an article in Business Week that fear is that artists may be sacrificing quality for quantity. Given the growing demand, some artists have become painting factories. Let us take example of some known names in Indian modern art, Ramkumar, T.Vaikuntham, Jogen Chaudhury, M.F.Husain to name few among many are producing same kind of works; boring and monotonous since a long time, far it is in demand. They never tried to transcend styles as though they have no creative urge. They never contemplated on arts dangerous ability to go toward what exists, by the infinite multiplicity of the imaginary.

Other leading art forms too like cinema, dance, and music are not lagging behind, here Kiss and sex is creativity since sex sells. See how do Rakhi Sawant kinds of item girls take creativity? Rakhi Sawant says, yadi mere dance mein mazaa nahin aata toh mujhe dekh kar enjoy karo. She has nothing to offer except her vulgar body, she confesses, Aaj kal ke latest fashion mein ye dance hota hai, jo dikhta hai vo aaj kal ka fashion hai.

This is not only Rakhi Sawant case; films are also using the same concept of creativity. Look at Mahesh Bhatt directed majority of films, he too has nothing to offer except sex, murder, and movies on extramarital affairs, and premarital affairs. No doubt there are some great Indian directors in film industry who do offer love, relationship, sex in a very creative way, they dont deny sex but they never go for a vulgar exposition of sex which is very natural human behavior. Those who are pro to vulgarity and justify it as most important thing, forget that it needs not be taught since it is a biological instinct which everyone knows by birth. You dont need to teach man how to make sex; its a genetic behavior which even a blind man can perform well. Opposed to these art forms literature has two categories: one which does not belong to creative aspect of literature and another one which only belongs to feudal-bourgeoisie petty emotions.

Regarding first category it is a fact that literati belongs to this category are pseudo Marxists, who do believe that all literature is socio-political in nature. Therefore the characters set forth in action in a set story line in a novel or in a short story; are peculiar in deeds and thought. They are obscure images who neither represent a social- being nor a Marxist man; rather they are ideological representatives in their vagueness. They are vague in deeds and thoughts since they never confront truth of life. Life does not revolve around bread only it has some higher purposes; it is creative in its being.

Another approach taken by feudal-bourgeoisie literati intellectuals is full of hedonism representing those very individualists, who never think for others. They write stories of pubs and parties, they have everything tradition, religion, jadu-tona, ghosts, and witches. Its reflecting visually on television channels like Star Plus, Zee etc. In the hot Serials of these channels Women and Men is being represented utterly superstitious and ritualistic. Recently the ideal of that society and he who belongs to that society shown his beliefs openly in his action; I am talking about Amitabh-Aishwarya-Abhishek trio. See how they had shown us the path to progress. They wanted to show us that since they are famous and rich, they can promote anything superstition, jadu- tona, sacrifice, ritualism etc. This is but logical for them; above all people always follow to those who are successful in the society.

Author is an art critic and writer of three books ' con temporizing Buddha', ' Hindu Tantra Yoga' and 'concerning the spiritual in art-an Indian modern art perspective'. He has been awarded with 'Lalit Kala Academy Scholarship Award' for art criticism in 2005. Working on a book 'Buddhist tantra yoga'. He lives and works in Delhi India.

Malus Clothing - Latin For Evil - T-Shirt

It's called innovation. Innovation in Latin Dance is really not a modern phenomenon. In fact, dance innovation did not begin and end with Eddie Torres or Francisco Vasquez. Although Eddie was one of our foremost contemporary dance innovators, innovation is as old as the Cuban Son or traditional Bachata themselves. In fact, all of the Latin Dance is a product of innovation. The annals are full of examples: Cuban Son, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Cumbia, Bolero, Merengue and Mambo are just but a few.

To define innovation, a device or process created by study and experimentation, the creation of something in the mind.

Since constant innovations of street dance such as bachata is not new, there is a very troublesome trend developing among many of today's bachata dancers. It is the tendency to launch cavalierly off to proclaim true style of bachata dancing, supposedly each better than the last. In fact, far too many of these so-called teachers and dancers are motivated for all the wrong reasons. Some seek ego gratification, money, or fame. Others simply lack the discipline to persevere in a particular dance style while some are just close minded, not to mention territorial, that they refuse to recognize (in a thinking term) other "colors' except black or white.

Many dance teachers are unaware of the inherent complexity, responsibility and sacrifice of valid dance innovation. They fail to realize that innovation is an evolutionary process of methodical modification and refinement, rather than a revolutionary product rendered out of whole cloth. It takes serious passion and countless experimentation. Motivation must come from deep within the soul, heart, and mind.

I hope to give my readers an unbiased look into my own search for and acquisition at dance innovation. I will try to provide a logical overview of a Dance Infrastructure, Dance Thesis, and Dance Research necessary for a logical dance style innovation. I will also share a brief history of how I came to dance the style I dance with bachata.

THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF A DANCE

It is ridiculous to think of developing a new style of dancing without an extensive infrastructure or background in body movements. By infrastructure, I am not referring to superficial excursions into various dance styles. I am speaking about the foundation, core knowledge, and a cornerstone. A knowledgeable foundation can be built only on consistent training, theory and practice. All great innovators were obsessed with experimenting and constant practice, and each had an extensive foundation in the art before even considering innovation.

International Latin Ballroom dancing has played a large part in my early dance history. During those years I have been perfecting the skills and techniques necessary for excellent dancing, and they have helped me understand the complexities of dancing in general. Prior to Ballroom, I've trained extensively in the Martial Arts, studied and familiarized myself with body dynamics and kinetics earning myself a 4th degree Black Belt and a certificate in Fitness Training. For many years, I have been teaching others these same techniques and principles, helping them reach their social or competitive goals. While I embarked myself to spread the bachata dance, I also specialize in other dances like salsa dance, I don't practice ballroom no longer, since I prefer to dance free rather than in a structured manner.

A strong foundation establishes the physical, mental, and creativity of a great dance style. Extensive dance training develops and refines the attributes of the dance (i.e., speed, power, timing, balance, accuracy, fluidity, grace, partner- ability, etc.). A broad intellectual grasp of various dance techniques are critical to any effort to modify and refine. Theoretical and conceptual analyses are touchstones of innovation.

Finally, a strong foundation will begin to open the dancer's inner self to the creative component of dancing. The innovator must become his art. Simply put, there are no shortcuts! Every dance innovator starts at the bottom and works his way up. The greatest were beginners. If you are unprepared to embrace the principles, forget rushing ahead to modify and create. A dance innovator can only succeed with a deep conception of the various movements, techniques, and related elements of dancing. Innovation requires that you learn to walk before you can run.

THE THESIS OF A DANCE

Innovation in every major field is based on a thesis. The thesis may be an aphorism, a concept, a rule, or any other valid reason to modify and go beyond that, which has already been established. Generally speaking, a valid thesis is the culmination of an analytical process. It is not something "thought up" or created on whim or fancy. Every foundational thesis for innovation has origination in what has gone before. For example, in science Einstein's theory of relativity would not have come about without Newtonian physics and the significant prior discoveries in electromagnetic physics. In art, the cubists and abstract expressionists owed much to the discoveries of traditional realists. Bruce Lee wouldn't have had developed his style, Jeet Kune Do, if he hadn't extensively trained in the art of Wing Chun first.

The same is true for dancing! Modifications and innovations in the sciences are based upon scientifically established thesis. Theses for dance innovation may be the result of cultural eccentricities or any number of other factors, including geography, culture and topography. For example, salsa historians attribute the development of mambo timing steps to the clave beat or tumbao. In the same manner, the rapid salsa shines are attributed to the bongos.

Given the important role of the thesis for innovation, it is disturbing that far too many so-called "innovators" set out to create and promote new dance styles without the background, study, and analysis necessary to formulate a valid reason for modifications. I know for a fact that some of these self-proclaimed experts are motivated for all the wrong reasons. For example, the "so called innovator" would discard the origin of the dance because his knowledge of history, tradition and culture is minimal. He develops a modified dance style according to his limited knowledge.

In my case, I have devoted more than 5 years to practicing, studying, researching, and analyzing bachata dance styles. I extensively studied the music, history and culture. My 13 years of experience in the Latin Dance (salsa on1, on2, timba, son, casino, merengue, paso doble, rumba, chachacha, samba, tango) helped a great deal since I came to know bachata dancing at a Dominican Restaurant in New York city. I have watched countless bachata dancers in the clubs and social parties. I have also carefully observed numerous Dominican dancers and even befriended some of them. These experiences led me to the awareness that many essential concepts, methods, and potential styles were NOT being taught or established in the so-called bachata dance classes and workshops. More and more it became alarmingly obvious to me that accurate information was being neglected. My primary concerns centered on the concept of hip movements, partner-ability and basic steps. Side steps became electric slides. Hip movements turned into grinding or humping. And dance partner-ability became stiffly robotic with no sensuality and passion.

Originally, the concept of the bachata dance was formulated based on simplicity, sensuality, sexuality, romance, heartaches and was danced at house parties, backyard celebration, whorehouses and bars. Of course, eventually, bachata music evolved to a more acceptable romantic and passionate music. Thanks to innovators such as Anthony Santos, Juan Luis Guerra, Aventura, Frank Reyes and others. They helped innovate bachata music to what it is today.

THE DANCE RESEARCH

Research is a continuous and painstaking process of observing, analyzing, testing, and documenting information relevant to the innovator's thesis. There are two broad categories of research that, in reality, overlap in very significant ways: academic and practical research.

Academic research is a process requiring dedication, patience, and an insatiable desire to learn. The innovator truly must want to know all there is! Once again, his thesis enters the picture in the all-important role of a beacon, directing him to information that has some relevance and bearing on his ultimate goal. Without this direction he is likely to waste time sorting and separating valuable data from a tremendous amount of junk and misinformation.

Research involves rapacious reading and observing all kinds of dancers. An important thing to note is that the body of printed materials on Latin dance, particularly; salsa dance has evolved geographically over the last 20 years. Instructional DVDs and the Internet have added a whole new and interesting database, and workshops are offered around the world. Bachata information on the Internet is catching up. But let me offer a word of caution: the innovator can't just expose himself passively to these sources. Literature must be dissected and noted. Videos must be viewed over and over again. Music must be listened to and understood. Strategically sound and weak points should be recorded and analyzed in personal journals. And finally, workshops and training programs should be attended with an open mind, balanced with healthy skepticism.

Realistic research thus begins. The innovator's information has been analyzed, cross-referenced, and refined to theoretical applications. It's time to break away from the black board and head for the lab. Obviously there are some difficulties in approaching simple and sound practical or experimental research. Somehow, somewhere, the innovator has to get it right. The dance club is the answer. The innovator will need innumerable social dancing, with all kinds of dancers to test the result of his new dance concept. This is the only way to test the innovator's hypotheses. The bottom line is - the innovator must have the on-hands experience of dancing in the clubs with all kinds of dancers, if he is going to preach it! He must walk the talk!

Finally, once the innovator's academic and practical research have been compatibly merged and his hypothesis adequately tested and proven, he will be in a position to crystallize and articulate a dance truth, in this case, his own style of dancing bachata. Over time this process and the resulting truths will build and evolve. Eventually, if successful, the innovator's research and experiments will lead to the structuring of a complex array of truths. This will be the innovator's dance style and teachings. This may sound easy to some, but I can tell you that it isn't. It didn't come easy for the Mambo King, Eddie Torres to develop Modern Mambo. It wasn't an overnight revelation for Frankie Martinez to develop Abakua style. And certainly, it didn't come easy for Francisco Vasquez with his electrifying LA style of dancing on 1. Of course, last important factors with your innovation; did people like it? Or to be more specific, did she like it?
